Resumen
De historia y tradiciones se desbordan los municipios y localidades; los que han dejado un legado de valores patrimoniales, rico en fundamentos culturales y sociales que consumaron los individuos en el decursar de la vida, con gran importancia para la socialización entre la comunidad y los historiadores. Este trabajo persigue destacar la creación, a través del negro liberto Nicolás Solano Sevilla, de la Asociación El Cristo en el Municipio Palmira, primera Sociedad que acogía a los negros esclavos liberados y sus descendientes africanos, de conjunto con hombres de buena voluntad, para realizar labores benéficas, recreativas e instruirlos en el conocimiento sobre la medicina verde y la cultura religiosa traída por esclavos africanos. Hoy prevalecen, bajo el patrocinio de la familia Sevilla en conjunto con los demás fundadores y los miembros de la misma, estas tradiciones. Los testimonios de los descendientes de la familia biológica de Nicolás Solano Sevilla, especialmente su nieto, quién está al frente de la Mesa Directiva, así lo confirman.

ABSTRACT
