Las redes sociales en la enseñanza-aprendizaje de idiomas

Resumen

En la actualidad las redes sociales son utilizadas en las actividades de enseñanza-aprendizaje y juegan un rol fundamental en los procesos de información y comunicación, así como en la accesibilidad del conocimiento. El objetivo del presente artículo es explorar el uso de las redes sociales en la educación y más específicamente en la enseñanza y aprendizaje de idiomas. Para el cumplimiento del propósito del estudio se utilizan fuentes primarias y secundarias de información y el criterio de especialistas en el tema que devuelven una perspectiva interdisciplinaria y multidisciplinaria. La pesquisa realizada muestra las diferentes tipologías de redes sociales existentes y sus funciones en el ámbito docente-educativo y el aprendizaje de idiomas, con resultados novedosos y significativos en su implementación. Específicamente, se abordan los enfoques conceptuales de redes sociales, su importancia, clasificación, ventajas y desventajas, así como su presencia y uso en el contexto cubano. Además, se describe su utilización en el ámbito educativo demostrándose que el aprendizaje desde las redes se entiende como un fenómeno social, cooperativo y colaborativo y fundamentalmente en el aprendizaje de una segunda lengua. Finalmente, se presentan algunas experiencias de implementación de estos recursos en un contexto de enseñanza superior presencial y no presencial.

ABSTRACT

Currently, social networks are used in teaching-learning activities and play a fundamental role in information and communication processes, as well as in the accessibility of knowledge. The objective of this article is to explore the use of social networks in education and more specifically in language teaching and learning. For the fulfillment of the purpose of the study, primary and secondary sources of information and the criteria of specialists in the subject are used that return an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary perspective. The research carried out shows the different types of existing social networks and their functions in the teaching-educational field and in language learning, with novel and significant results in their implementation. Specifically, it addresses the conceptual approaches of social networks, their importance, classification, advantages and disadvantages, as well as their presence and use in the Cuban context. In addition, its use in the educational field is described, demonstrating that learning from networks is understood as a social, cooperative and collaborative phenomenon and fundamentally in the learning of a second language. Finally, some experiences of implementing these resources are presented in a face-to-face and non-face-to-face higher education context.
