Dimensión ambiental en el pensamiento latinoamericano sobre CTS, desde 1970 hasta 1999

Resumen

En los últimos tiempos los intentos de América Latina han estado orientados al incremento del bienestar de la sociedad. La trayectoria del pensamiento latinoamericano sobre ciencia, tecnología y sociedad, entre los años 1970-1999, se relacionó al enfoque político en torno a problemas de desarrollo vinculados con la ciencia, la tecnología y el medio ambiente ante la crisis global. Sin embargo, las ideas anteriores han sido poco trabajadas en la determinación y sistematización del quehacer intelectual de los representantes del enfoque CTS en Latinoamérica relacionados de manera particular a la dimensión ambiental desde concepciones ideológica, política y ética. Por ello la investigación tiene como objetivo analizar la dimensión ambiental en el pensamiento latinoamericano sobre CTS, desde 1970 hasta 1999. Lo novedoso del estudio radica en que se profundiza y sistematiza la dimensión ambiental en el pensamiento latinoamericano, como elemento fundamental para el desarrollo científico tecnológico de la región.

ABSTRACT

In recent times, many attempts have been made in Latin America towards increasing the welfare of society. The course of Latin American thinking on science, technology and society, between 1970-1999, followed a political approach focused on development problems linked to science, technology and the environment in the face of the emerging global crisis. However, these ideas have not been sufficiently applied in the determination and systematization of the intellectual work of the representatives of the STS (Science Technology and Society) approach in Latin America, particularly related to the environmental dimension from ideological, political and ethical conceptions. Therefore, the aim of this research is to analyze the environmental dimension in Latin American STS thinking from 1970 to 1999. The novelty of the study lies in the fact that it systematizes and delves into the environmental dimension in Latin American thinking, as a fundamental element for the scientific and technological development of the region.
