La Educación Superior Latinoamericana en José Martí
Resumen
Cuando José Martí realiza sus estudios universitarios en España estas universidades eran de la más atrasadas de Europa, aún predominaba en ella el escolasticismo, y las nuevas formas de pensamiento no se incorporaban a la usanza de Francia, Alemania o Inglaterra. Las universidades latinoamericanas se sustentaban en el modelo español, que por la distancia reflejaban más atraso y en ellas los nuevos debates se dirigían a la promoción, principalmente del modelo norteamericano e inglés. De aquí que el Apóstol hiciera varios planteamientos sobre cómo debían ser las universidades y los sistemas educacionales en general.
Consciente de que “al mundo nuevo le corresponde la universidad nueva” ve la función social de esta institución, de “donde debían salir los gobernantes”. La independencia y progreso de la región estaba en manos de hombres nuevos, cultos y solidarios, hombres de su tiempo, no de tecnócratas atrofiados por los libros. El ideario martiano con relación a la educación y la universidad esta se enfoca en múltiples direcciones, siempre basado en un pensamiento fundacional, revolucionario y humanista.

ABSTRACT
When José Martí you do University studies in Spain, these universities were among the most backward in Europe, scholasticism still predominated in them, and the new form of thought were not incorporated in the style of, France, Germany, England. The Latin American Universities were base don the Spanish model, which due to the distance reflected more backward and in them the new debates were directe to the promotion, mainly of the American and Engish model. From here, the Apostle made several approaches about how universities and educational systems in general should be.
Aware that the new world corresponds to the new University, he sees the social function of this institution, where the rulers should come from. The Independence and progress of the región was in the hands of new men, cultured and suppotive, men of their time, not technocrats atrophied by books. Martí is ideology in relation to education and the University focuses in multiple directions, always base don a fundacional, revolutionary and humanist thought.
