Abstract

ABSTRACT

In the current Cuban political, economic and social scenario, public debate has been established as a line of work for national improvement, which is why it is necessary to include the opinions and criteria of children in the development of community projects, initiatives and research. . This population category is one of the least studied in the library field, so its criteria and opinions are not taken into account for the design of activities and information services. Within the library diagnosis, the survey is only applied to them in relation to their reading tastes, but they are not asked about their emotional needs. Boys and girls must be made visible as interpreters of social life and as moral agents who do not act impulsively, but rather seek to legitimize their decisions based on values and the emotional commitment established with others. For this reason, spaces for enjoyment and knowledge should be designed where they read, are distracted, socialize and their emotional needs are treated. This will establish a field of possibilities to improve relations between generations, promote the animation of the neighborhood and create a communication channel between parents and children. The study aims to provide tools that help them survive in their natural environment through the actions of the public library.
