Diagnosis of the impact of social networks on freedom of expression
Abstract
Social media has democratized access to information and allowed a wide range of voices to participate in public discourse. This study aims to analyze the impact of social networks on freedom of expression in Babahoyo, identifying the factors that play a determining role in this dynamic. Through a quantitative approach based on surveys and using logistic regression as a statistical method, aspects such as internet access, level of digital literacy, censorship experiences, and perception of content moderation and knowledge of the framework will be explored current legal in Ecuador. The results of this research will provide a deeper understanding of how social media is shaping freedom of expression in Babahoyo and will offer valuable insights for the development of policies and strategies aimed at protecting and promoting this fundamental right in the digital age.
