Breathing in trombone students
Abstract
This study shows the results obtained after applying activities that contribute to the development of the full breathing skill in first-year students in the teaching-learning process of trombone. Taking as a sample the trombone students of the “Benny Moré” School of Art, in the city of Cienfuegos. These activities are based on vocal theory, as well as on relaxation and warm-up principles, to transfer relevant knowledge to our area of specialization. Theoretical and empirical methods were used for the diagnosis of the students, as well as for the modeling of the research field, through the formulation and application of specific activities. The analysis of the practical implementation, together with the evaluation carried out by specialists, demonstrated the viability and effectiveness of the proposal. This validity was corroborated by comparing the initial state of the students with the results obtained, which showed a higher qualitative improvement. This suggests that the activities presented are valuable in the trombone educational process, contributing to the development of physiological skills and cognitive processes. Its potential impact transcends the technical field, proposing training paradigms where breathing operates as an integrating axis between instrumental praxis and comprehensive artistic development.
