Law and artificial intelligence: challenges and opportunities in the Ecuadorian and international legal framework
Abstract
The advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) poses significant challenges in the field of law, both in the regulation of its use and its impact on fundamental rights. This article analyzes the Ecuadorian and international legal framework regarding AI, highlighting regulatory gaps, regulatory proposals, and ethical challenges. The article discusses the implications of AI for the administration of justice, criminal law, and data protection, proposing strategies for regulatory development consistent with the principles of legality and human rights.Keywords: law, artificial intelligence, regulation, ethics, data protection, digital justice
