Vicarious Violence in Ecuador: A multicriteria analysis to optimize intervention strategies and institutional response.

Authors

Abstract

This study examines vicarious violence in Ecuador through a multicriteria analysis based on the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), aiming to evaluate the effectiveness of various intervention strategies. The results indicate that specialized training for judicial and police personnel is the most effective measure to combat this form of violence, followed by the implementation of awareness campaigns and educational programs. The absence of a specific legal framework and the insufficient training of justice operators contribute to impunity and the revictimization of women. It is concluded that strengthening institutional responses through the integration of public policies, specialized training, and legislative reforms is imperative for the comprehensive protection of victims.
