Legal education on gender violence

Abstract

The Attorney General's Office has made changes in its ongoing pursuit of improvement. With an emphasis on prevention and citizen service, special emphasis has been placed on the protection of women's rights, driven by the country's social development. Therefore, the objective of this paper is to analyze legal education as a tool to help minimize the main manifestations of gender-based violence in the family setting in the province of Cienfuegos. To this end, the theoretical framework of gender-based violence against women in intimate relationships was addressed, as well as the perspective of legal education from a multidisciplinary perspective. Case files, complaints and reports, the main current legal norms, and other written sources were examined, allowing the phenomenon to be viewed from different perspectives. The conclusion is that civic education must be strengthened by all institutions to continue advancing the pursuit of equality and women's empowerment in the province of Cienfuegos.
