The main limitations of the implementation of Artificial Intelligence in the Cuban Penitentiary System

Abstract

The research addresses the ethical and legal challenges and concerns associated with the implementation of artificial intelligence in the prison system, highlighting the need for further research in this field and emphasizing the relevance of the risks associated with the technology. A qualitative methodology was applied that combines the historical-logical method with the bibliographic review technique. It concludes that the implementation of AI should be a participatory process involving inmates, prison staff, civil society organizations, and all sectors involved in the enforcement of sentences.
