Bilingual expression in Chinese literature in Spain: language choice and identity.
Abstract
This research delves into the phenomenon of bilingual expression in Chinese literature in Spain, focusing on the linguistic choices present in the works. Special attention is paid to the complex relationship between Chinese and Spanish, and how these choices reflect the formation of the authors´ identity. The essay is structured into three main parts. The first section provides a detailed review of both the historical background and prominent writers of Chinese literature in Spain. Through a comprehensive historical overview of this literary domain, readers are provided with a clear background that facilitates a better understanding of its uniqueness and evolutionary process. The second section focuses on the specific analysis of literary works. Through a deep examination of representative works, it is revealed how authors employ linguistic expression in their creative process and how these linguistic choices become a prominent aspect for highlighting identity within the text. This section aims to interpret authors´ linguistic choices not only as strategies in literary creation but also as a profound search for cultural roots and individual identity. Finally, through a comprehensive analysis of the reciprocal relationship between language choice and identity, deeper reflection is made on the intersection between language and identity in Chinese literature in Spain. At the same time, new perspectives are offered for Chinese literary research and the field of intercultural communication.
