The fiscal action and social actors in the protection of minors who are victims of crimes
Abstract
The Attorney General's Office of the Republic of Cuba, in its ongoing quest to improve its functions, is constantly updating its work methodologies. Over the past five years, it has paid special attention to the defense of citizens' rights, particularly those related to children and adolescents, in order to strengthen the Attorney General's Office's role in ensuring justice and social well-being in conjunction with the other social actors involved. In this regard, it is essential to implement reforms to its action protocols and inter-institutional coordination to prioritize the best interests of the child and prevent re-victimization. The objective of this paper is to analyze the coordination of prosecutorial action among social actors in the protection of child victims of crime in the municipality of Cienfuegos. The results identify elements that can be used to improve the work of the Prosecutor's Office and social actors in defense of child victims. Various theoretical methods were used to develop this research, such as historical-logical, analytical-synthetic, and inductive-deductive analysis, combined with empirical methods such as document analysis, observation, and interviews. The novelty of this study lies in the identification of elements that can be used to improve the work of the Prosecutor's Office and social actors in the area under investigation, which provides tools to enhance the Prosecutor's performance.
