Therapeutic physical exercises in instrumentalists whith musculoskeletal disorders

Authors

Abstract

This work stems from a question: How can musculoskeletal disorders be prevented in instrumentalists at the elementary level? Preventing musculoskeletal disorders caused by improper postures during rehearsals and repetitive movements without warm-up is essential. This study aims to select therapeutic physical exercises, particularly for scoliosis, in instrumentalists at the elementary level. Research methods and techniques employed included historical-logical, analytical-synthetic, inductive-deductive, and document analysis, specifically of the saxophone teaching and learning program, as well as surveys and measurements. The result of this work is the selection of therapeutic physical exercises for warm-up, breathing during performance, and stretching to prevent musculoskeletal disorders in instrumentalists, especially saxophonists. The implementation of these therapeutic physical exercises and biomechanics provides scientific tools to eradicate postural problems that cause such disorders.
