Traditional games in Mexico and Cuba: a journey through the recreational culture of two countries

Abstract

Traditional games are part of the history and culture of the peoples, even more so they are considered part of an identity. It is well understood that traditional games allow the development of motor, physical and social skills. Within this framework of ideas, the purpose of this research work is to know the importance of traditional games in Mexico and Cuba, and how it is part of the professional training of future physical educators in the two countries. And likewise, it can allow us to carry out an analysis of the cognitive development of Mexican and Cuban children, as well as to know more closely the cultural roots of Mexico and Cuba.  In this work it will allow us to discover the richness of traditional games in the construction of a comprehensive, social and recreational education; for our Educational Institution the Pablo García Ávalos School, Degree in Physical Education of the State of Tabasco Mexico, like the University of Cienfuegos of the Republic of Cuba. The work is being carried out in collaboration with fellow teachers from the University of Cienfuegos, and for this event of the II International Scientific Convention, the theoretical support will be completed as the forest of the practical phase of the investigation.
