Analysis of the perception of financial training in rural entrepreneurs of Pastaza

Authors

Abstract

The study was carried out with the objective of analyzing the knowledge and perception of rural entrepreneurs on financial training, identifying existing gaps and providing recommendations to improve training programs. Between January and March 2024, a cross-sectional diagnostic approach was adopted using theoretical and empirical methods. The research included structured surveys applied to 76 rural entrepreneurs from the province of Pastaza, enrolled in training programs offered by CONAGOPARE in collaboration with the Business Administration Program of the Regional Autonomous University of the Andes. The results revealed that many entrepreneurs lack accurate knowledge about the investments made in their businesses and have significant deficiencies in understanding key financial concepts. It was identified that the availability and quality of current training programs are not satisfactory for a considerable proportion of entrepreneurs. The implementation of pilot financial training programs that include practical components and long-term monitoring was recommended, in order to evaluate their impact on the management and sustainability of rural businesses.
