Social perception of gender violence among university students
Abstract
The research aimed to analyze the social perception of gender-based violence among young people studying Sociocultural Management for Development at the University of Cienfuegos. Qualitative and quantitative methodologies were used for its development, as both were used in the analysis and interpretation of the results. The study was descriptive, and the research techniques used were questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. The results showed that the perception of gender-based violence in this program is characterized as a complex phenomenon influenced by factors such as sexism and traditional gender ideology, which largely depend on knowledge about the subject. Gender stereotypes that visualize and justify certain types of violence persist.
