Speech Therapy Exploration in learners with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder
Abstract
The speech therapy assessment in students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder at Vilma Espín School in the province of Cienfuegos is the central objective of this research. The evaluation of expressive and receptive language is fundamental for the communicative and social development of these students, constituting a necessity and a right to have appropriate tools for their diagnosis and treatment. This research is based on the application of theoretical, empirical, and mathematical methods, including observation, interviews, and document analysis. Based on the results obtained, a scale of levels of impairment is proposed for the evaluation of language in students with ASD during complementary speech therapy assessment. The proposal was refined and validated through expert judgment, ensuring its relevance and effectiveness for working with these students.
