Abstract
The article is a contextual exploration of musical identity and repertoire, serving as an example of the significance and relevance of its study considering references from Colombian academic music. The objective is to assess the importance of the repertoire of three composers in the construction of Colombian musical identity for a rich and detailed understanding of this phenomenon from the perspective of those who interpret and give meaning to it. Qualitative research methods were employed, including phenomenological, as well as analysis and synthesis, historical and logical analysis, induction-deduction, and documentary analysis. In this sense, an identity conversation is explored that, due to its imprint on Colombian academic music, is fundamental for its recognition in the construction of Colombian musical identity. It starts by considering the need to reclaim the role of the musical repertoire of three composers who marked a representative musical symbol in their works. Music, recognized as a cultural manifestation of society, becomes a complex phenomenon with multiple layers of meaning. In this context, Colombian music stands as an auditory testament to the rich cultural diversity that defines the nation.
