Analysis of the development of physical abilities in primary school students

Authors

Abstract

This research examines the development of conditional physical abilities (endurance, quickness, strength) and flexibility in primary school students in the city of Cienfuegos during the 2024-2025 academic year. The objective of the study was to assess the results of the Physical Efficiency Tests. The methodological design corresponds to a non-experimental descriptive study, with document analysis as the primary empirical method used in the research. The statistical analysis was based on empirical frequency distribution and the difference of means test for paired samples. The analysis was conducted taking into account the sex and age of the research participants. The results show significant changes between the initial and final physical efficiency tests in sit-ups, planks, quickness, and flexibility; however, in the case of endurance and the long jump without a run-up, the results are unsatisfactory from one test to the next. Therefore, it is recommended to design and implement new strategies to improve the results of the aforementioned tests.
