Auxiliary exercises to teach the Basic One-Handed Shot in Basketball in Physical Education
Abstract
Introduction: The teaching of the one-hand basic shot in basketball is essential in school Physical Education; however, methodological limitations affect its learning in primary students. Objective: To design a proposal of auxiliary exercises for teaching the one-hand basic shot in sixth-grade students. Methods: A descriptive, non-experimental, cross-sectional study was conducted. The sample included 40 students, 3 teachers, and 9 specialists. Theoretical, empirical (document analysis, measurement, interview, and survey), and statistical methods (frequencies, percentages, and Chi-square with p ≤ 0.05) were used. Results: The diagnosis showed a predominance of low performance levels and technical errors in shot execution. Limited variety of exercises in teaching practice was identified. The proposal was evaluated as feasible and relevant by specialists. Conclusions: The auxiliary exercise proposal contributes to improving the teaching of the basic shot, promoting technical correction and methodological diversification in Physical Education.
